TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Admission Policy

Funda Institute is committed to providing fair and transparent access to training opportunities. Admission to courses is based on the applicant meeting the minimum entry requirements for the selected program.

Applicants are required to:

  • Complete the course registration form.

  • Provide accurate personal and contact information.

  • Submit any required supporting documentation where applicable.

Funda Institute reserves the right to accept or decline applications where admission requirements are not met or where course capacity has been reached.

2. Privacy and Protection of Personal Information

Funda Institute is committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of students and website users in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Personal information may be collected during course registration, website interaction, or communication with the institute. Such information may include, but is not limited to:

  • Full name and identification details

  • Contact information including email addresses and telephone numbers

  • Course registration information

  • Assessment and certification records

This information is collected for legitimate purposes including:

  • Processing course registrations

  • Communicating with students regarding training schedules and updates

  • Managing assessments, certification, and training records

  • Meeting regulatory or accreditation requirements

Funda Institute will take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information is stored securely and protected from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse. Personal information will not be shared with third parties unless required by law, necessary for accreditation processes, or where consent has been obtained from the student. Students may request access to or correction of their personal information by contacting the institute.

3. Registration Policy

Students are required to complete the official registration process before participating in any course offered by Funda Institute.

Registration may include:

  • Completion of the registration form.

  • Acceptance of the institute’s terms and conditions.

  • A minimum of 50% of the fees is required prior to enrollment.

  • Submission of identification and qualification documents.

  • Registration will only be confirmed once all required steps have been completed.

4. Payment Policy

Course fees must be paid in accordance with the payment terms communicated during the registration process. Students are advised to note the following:

  • Fees may vary depending on the selected course.

  • Payment confirmation may be required before access to the Learning Management System (LMS) is granted.

  • Payments will not be accepted after the registration period has closed.

  • Payments must be made through the official Ikhokha platform. Any payments made via incorrect methods will not be processed, and enrollment will be deferred to the next intake.

5. Refund Policy

  • Funda Institute does not offer refunds under any circumstances.

  • Students may, however, opt to switch to an e-learning format, change their course, or enroll in long-distance learning.

  • In exceptional circumstances beyond a student’s control, they must notify the Institute; failure to do so may result in forfeiture of fees.

6. Attendance Policy

Students are expected to attend all scheduled training sessions and actively participate in learning activities.

Failure to attend scheduled sessions may result in:

  • Missed course content.

  • Ineligibility for assessments or certification.

  • Course non-completion.

  • Funda Institute reserves the right to set minimum attendance requirements for certain accredited programs.

7. Marketing and Media Usage

Funda Institute may take photographs, videos, or other recordings during training sessions, workshops, or institute-related events for marketing and promotional purposes.

These materials may be used in:

  • Website content

  • Social media platforms

  • Marketing and promotional materials

  • Institutional presentations or reports

By enrolling in a course with Funda Institute, students acknowledge that photographs or videos may be taken during training activities. Funda Institute undertakes to use all images and media responsibly and in a manner consistent with the professionalism and reputation of the institution.

8. Assessment Policy

Students enrolled in accredited or competency-based programs may be required to complete assessments.

Students must:

  • Submit assessments within the specified timeframes.

  • Complete assessments independently unless group work is required.

  • Comply with academic integrity standards.

Failure to meet assessment requirements may affect course completion or certification.

9. Certification Policy

Certificates will only be issued to students who successfully complete all course requirements.

This may include:

  • Meeting attendance requirements.

  • Successfully completing assessments and graded.

  • Compliance with course participation guidelines.

  • Students will be given a grace period of three months to settle their fees.

Funda Institute reserves the right to withhold certification where requirements have not been met.

10. Student Behaviour and Conduct

Funda Institute is committed to maintaining a professional, respectful, and productive learning environment.

Students are expected to:

  • Treat facilitators, staff members, and fellow students with respect and professionalism.

  • Participate in training activities in a constructive and cooperative manner.

  • Follow all instructions provided by facilitators or institute representatives.

  • Refrain from disruptive, abusive, discriminatory, or inappropriate behaviour.

Any behaviour that disrupts the learning environment or violates the standards of the institute may result in disciplinary action, which may include:

  • A verbal or written warning.

  • Removal from a training session.

  • Suspension or termination of participation in the course.

Funda Institute reserves the right to take appropriate action where student conduct is inconsistent with institutional standards.

11. Use of Cookies

The Funda Institute website may use cookies to improve website functionality and user experience.

Cookies are small data files stored on a user's device when visiting a website. These cookies may assist in:

  • Remembering user preferences

  • Enhancing website performance

  • Monitoring website traffic and usage patterns

Cookies used by the website do not collect sensitive personal information.

12. Complaints and Appeals Policy

Students who wish to lodge a complaint or appeal an academic decision may do so by submitting a written request to the institute.

All complaints will be:

  • Investigated fairly and objectively.

  • Handled confidentially.

  • Resolved within a reasonable timeframe.

Students will be informed of the outcome once the review process has been completed.

13. Unforeseen Circumstances

Funda Institute shall not be held responsible for any changes arising from circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Institute.

Such circumstances may include, but are not limited to:

  • Natural disasters

  • Public health emergencies

  • Government regulations or restrictions

  • Strikes, civil unrest, or any other events beyond the reasonable control of the Institute

In such instances, Funda Institute shall take reasonable steps to implement appropriate alternative arrangements where reasonably practicable.

14. Policy Amendments

Funda Institute reserves the right to amend these policies from time to time to ensure compliance with legal requirements and operational needs. Updated policies will be published on the institute’s website.

All Occupational Health and Safety programmes offered by Funda Institute are verified and/or endorsed by the South African Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (Saiosh), a recognised professional body appointed by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) for Occupational Health and Safety professional designations.
